The first was a 910-carat diamond, which was followed by the recovery of a 149-carat diamond. Both were D coloured Type IIa diamonds. The 910-carat diamond was the largest recovered from Letšeng —  the highest dollar per carat kimberlite diamond mine in the world. The diamond is believed to be the fifth largest gem quality diamond ever recovered.

The 149-carat diamond is the fourthhigh quality diamond of over 100 carats to be recovered by Gem Diamonds in 2018.
