Modikwa mine is a large underground mine located in the north eastern part of South Africa, northwest of Burgersfort, in one of South Africa’s platinum provinces, Limpopo. Modikwa represents one of the largest platinum reserves in South Africa, with estimated reserves topping 200 million tonnes of ore grading 2g/t platinum, 1.87g/t palladium and minor grades of gold, rhodium, ruthenium, and iridium. The mine has reserves of 13.8 million ounces of platinum and 12.9 million ounces of palladium and it produces around 120 000oz of platinum a year and 110 000oz of palladium a year.
Exhibitors should include any company that supplies equipment or products to the platinum mining industry mines, or that supplies equipment or products that can be used in the platinum mining process. Modikwa is part of southern Africa’s world-famous platinum belt so, if you’re involved in that business, then this is the expo for you.
