Situated about 20km west of Kriel in Mpumalanga, South Africa, the Matla mining complex comprises three mines producing 14Mtpa of power station coal with a workforce of over 2 500. It is a fully mechanised underground mine employing continuous mining and short-wall methods.

Matla, which means ‘strength’ in Sesotho, has coal reserves amounting to 297.3 million tonnes of coking coal, making it one of the largest coal reserves in Africa and the world. The mine produces around 14 million tonnes of coal a year, with the output going directly to the Matla Power Station.

Exhibitors should include any company that supplies equipment or products to the coal mines, or that supplies equipment or products that can be used in the coal mining process. In Witbank, it’s all about coal. So, if you’re involved in that business, then this expo is the place to be.

- This is our third exhibition in the area.
- We had 322 registered visitors and
60 exhibitors booked at the last exhibition.
