Dishaba Mine, located 40km south of Thabazimbi and 15km north of the town of Northam in South Africa’s Limpopo province, produces platinum group metals (PGM). Dishaba is one of the nine South African platinum mines wholly owned by world's largest platinum producer, Anglo American Platinum. The mine is operated under a mining right that covers a total area of 31km² in the north-western section of the Bushveld Igneous Complex (BIC), the richest source of PGM worldwide.

Dishaba Mine has been a stand-alone operational entity since 2009 after Anglo Platinum's Amandelbult section was restructured into two mines, namely Tumela and Dishaba.

The lifespan of Dishaba mine is expected to last until 2058, and the mine produced 291 100oz of platinum group minerals in 2011. It also produces palladium, rhodium and gold (4E).

The mining rights of Amplats’ Tumela Mine cover a total area of 111km² in the north western section of the Bushveld Igneous Complex (BIC). The life of the Tumela mine extends beyond 2091.

Tumela has operated as a stand-alone unit since 2009 after Anglo Platinum's Amandelbult section was split into two mines, namely Tumela and Dishaba. The Tumela mine consists of three vertical and four decline shafts. The mine has two production areas: the Tumela Lower mine and Tumela Upper mine; and is operated at depths ranging from 160m to 850m beneath the surface.

Exhibitors at the Amandelbult expo should include anyone who supplies products or equipment to the platinum mining industry especially suppliers of water efficiency equipment; noise reduction/rock drills; support; tools to eliminate small injuries; rock anchors; cost-saving innovations; cable clips; recycling equipment; environmental innovations; fire suppression products; and products and equipment to help mines meet their energy targets.
