Exploration - Southern Africa - Metal Tiger takes off

London-listed Metal Tiger’s airborne electro-magnetic (AEM) trail survey in the northern Botswana copper belt has successfully identified a distinctive geophysical anomaly coincident with the T3 deposit.

Metal Tiger’s interest in Botswana centres on the high-grade copper and silver Target 3 (T3) deposit for which a maiden JORC compliant mineral resource estimate was established in September 2016 and an open-pit scoping study announced in December 2016. Work to build on the T3 scoping study and progress to prefeasibility study (PFS) got underway early in 2017.

Location: Botswana
Resource: Copper

The AEM geophysics survey was extended to increase coverage along a circa 50km strike on the T3 Dome axis, with the objective of identifying new targets along the wider T3 Dome structure. According to an announcement by Metal Tiger, preliminary interpretation of data has identified other AEM anomalies in the area. It further states that a full interpretation undertaken by a Botswanan geophysical consultancy is currently underway to prioritise the anomalies for drill testing. The Botswana Department of Environmental Affairs has authorised the T3 environmental management plan (EMP) to proceed to a four-week public review period, which started on 7 July 2017.
