Praise for gas project

Tanzania has handed South African based engineering company WorleyParsons a certificate of achievement in recognition of the company’s contribution to the completion of two natural gas processing plants at Mnazi Bay and Songo Songo Island. WorleyParsons managed the construction of 551km of transportation pipeline that included an offshore pipeline from Songo Songo Island to Somanga, and an onshore pipeline from Mtwara (Mnazi Bay) to Dar es Salaam (Tegeta).

It was clear from discussions held at Deloitte’s annual conference ‘Africa in 2017: Shaping the continent’s future’, that a number of opportunities are available in Africa. However, most of the speakers were of the opinion that while the potential for growing African economies is good, it is not enough to spur sustainable economic growth. The conference was held at Deloitte’s head office in Woodmead, South Africa, in January.
